Beach lovers the world over are rushing to snap up an area of golden sands in Cornwall for the bargain price of ?50,000.
On July 13 one lucky buyer will be able to snap up 76 acres of Gwithian beach when the area goes to auction.
The details for would-be buyers promise 'a sandy beach well known for its surfing' situated in the north east of St Ives Bay, 'part of the Cornish Riviera'.

The sale has attracted interest from as far away as China and America, leading to predictions the value of the beach may be pushed up well beyond the ?50,000 guide price.
The owner of the beach will not be able to do much more than admire the sand dunes and view out to sea as the land is a nature reserve which prevents building work being carried out.
Visitors to the beach will also be pleased to know that it must also remain open to the public.

For the past 19 years the beach has been owned by Dennis Arbon, a trustee of the Hall for Cornwall, a performing arts venue in area. He has donated the beach to the hall, and funds from the sale will go towards supporting the venue.
Richard Argles, from auctioneers Colliers CRE, said: 'We've had an amazing amount of interest and the catalogues were only sent out on Thursday. It's just gone mad.'
Foreign buyers are not the only parties interested. Richard Smith, member of the London Surf Club, said: 'The information was forwarded round the club and some guys even jokingly suggested we all chip in and try and buy the beach between us.'

However, the surfers will be disappointed to learn that interest is expected to push the price up significantly.
'We've already had someone make us an offer,' said Tim Brinkman, director of the the Hall for Cornwall.
'?50,000 is the starting point for bids. We hope it will get into six figures.'

Why should anyone own a beach anyway? - the beach should be accessible to everyone!

We have just been on holiday on this beach and walked round the nature reserve it is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth, wish I had the money to buy it, Glad to hear it will have to stay as it is and open to the public.

Best of luck to the Hall of Cornwall, may you get a high bid and may the new owner love their property. As it is seen today, hopefully it will be seen the same in 100 years because of land conservation - saving the last great places one at a time.
