Scores of Muslim devotees offered special namaaz on the occassion of Eid-ul-Fitar at Jama Masjid here today. The area of Jama Masjid witnessed a heavy crowd of devotees. Punjab Cabinet Minister Hira Singh Gabria congratulated the Muslim community on the occassion of Id.
While addressing the members of the community, Shahi Imam Maulana Habib ur Rehman Saani said that Eid was a festival of peace and harmony. He called upon the people to lead a truthful and clean life.
The Sahi Imam said that the European countries were trying to humiliate the Muslim community by dubbing them as terrorists. He regretted that in our country also, some bad elements were trying to create a rift among the people hailing from the Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities.
The Shahi Imam also criticised the action of China, saying that China had disturbed the the peace and harmony in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that Indians would never tolerate such kind of acts and added that they would give a befitting reply to the countries who try to disturb India’s peace.

People from all religions congratulated the Muslims on the occasion and participated in Eid celebrations.
